In a series of meetings at Gandhi Bhavan, AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan today addressed Congress leaders from various constituencies, emphasizing discipline, recognition of loyal party workers, and the importance of grassroots engagement.
Natarajan assured party members that those who had steadfastly represented the Congress over the past decade would be given precedence in leadership roles.
She acknowledged concerns from long-serving members about being overshadowed by recent entrants, and said that the party leadership was attentive to these issues. "Justice will be delivered to loyal leaders," she said.
Addressing internal conflicts, Natarajan stressed the necessity of maintaining discipline and unity within the party. She cautioned against public dissent and warned that any public statements opposing the party would lead to strict consequences.
"We should not discuss internal matters publicly," she reiterated.
Natarajan also urged leaders to move beyond superficial displays of allegiance, such as flex banners, and to engage directly with communities. She highlighted the significance of organizing programs like "Jai Bapu, Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhan" in villages to strengthen the party's grassroots presence.
"It is crucial to engage directly with the community," she said, and encouraged leaders to dedicate time to party activities and connect with the populace.
Natarajan also urged leaders to effectively communicate the party's commitment to social justice, and its efforts for it via the caste census and SC classification initiatives, to the public. She directed the TPCC (Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee) to develop an action plan to campaign on the caste census.
