Promising Warangal's engineering students 1,000 jobs in the next 18 months, Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao today said that good days were ahead for the city as the government would make it another IT hub after Hyderabad.
Laying the foundation stone for Cyient's new technology development facility and also an IT Incubation Centre in Warangal, KTR vowed to release Rs 5 crores on Saturday for the Centre's development. The Centre will be built over 2 acres and will have 15,000 sft built-up area, and will help start-ups, and micro, small and medium IT companies to operate out of plug-and-play facilities.
"Today is a historic day and the people should recognize it," he said. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had a lot of affection for the district, and it would see the IT sector developing, he said.
To enable students to get campus placements for IT jobs, the government would take steps to offer them skill development training and need-based skills, he announced.
KTR said that as a result of all the government's initiatives, Warangal's students would not need to go to Hyderabad and Bengaluru for IT jobs any more as they would get the same locally.
