Adressing a presser in New Delhi, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy today said that he had complete faith the Congress high command's ability to resolve the Telangana to the satisfaction of all parties involved, even if it might take a while longer than expected.
Referring to the uproar caused by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's
announcement that the party might not be able to meet its deadline of 28 January, Jana Reddy said that people and the media need to calm down and keep open minds and hearts. He appealed to the media not to put things across in a provocative manner.
"You have to understand," said Reddy, "We must find a foolproof solution. It is a sensitive issue we have been debating for years. It will be solved soon, and you must be patient."
Stating the importance of parting amicably, the Nagarjuna Sagar MLA said, "Even if we separate, the Telugu people must remain one at heart. The situation in the state is growing adverse by the day. There is hatred and anger among people, and it needs to be diffused."
Reiterating that there is noquestion of the high command coming under pressure from anybody, Jana Reddy said that the Telangana region will get statehood, even if it might take a few days longer that anticipated.
