Veteran Congress leader M Kodanda Reddy today resigned from the post of TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman. He reportedly sent his resignation letter to the Congress' national president Sonia Gandhi and to TPCC head A Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the media about his decision to step down, the leader said that he had quit from his post to pave the way for the formation of a new committee following the appointment of a new TPCC president.
He also clarified that he had not tendered his resignation to escape the work of dealing with some pending cases and added that he had resigned only after resolving all pending matters.
In a bid to keep all speculations about the nature of his resignation at bay, Kodanda Reddy asserted that there was "no other reason" behind his decision.
Just days before stepping down, the veteran leader had chaired a meeting of the disciplinary committee where the decision to expel former state Congress secretary G Satyanarayana Reddy was taken after the latter allegedly made some unflattering remarks Revanth Reddy and AICC state in-charge Manickam Tagore.
Prior to his explosion from the grand old party, Satyanarayana Reddy had been served a notice for demeaning the new Congress leadership with his remarks.
