Telangana Vanta Varpu Successful
Telangana supporters set up makeshift kitchens at several junctions in Hyderabad, to cook food on the streets as a form of protest.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi's Vanta Varpu program has been a resounding success.
TRS activists, Telangana JAC members, and supporters of the Telangana cause mobilized from all over Telangana, set up makeshift kitchens at several junctions in Hyderabad, to cook food on the streets.
The custom of community lunches, where families get together out in the open and cook food and eat together, is a well-known monsoon custom in the Telangana region. Activists from the TRS as well as the Telangana JAC (Joint Action Committee) extended this to their latest form of protestfor a separate state of Telangana on June 16.
TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao took part in the Vanta Varpu organized at Gun Park and near his Banjara Hills residence at the Basavataram Cancer Hospital. His son, K T Rama Rao, also an MLA, took part in the protest at Ameerpet. KCR's nephew Harish Rao participated in the Hi-Tech City Vanta Varpu.
The Hi-Tech City protest also saw actress-turned-politician and Medak MP Vijayasanthi, and actor Suman.
Telangana JAC convenor Kodandaram took part at the Gun Park Vanta Varpu and at the HUDA complex in Tarnaka. TRS Floor Leader Etela Rajender was at Alwal,
The streets of Hyderabad were coloured pink with the TRS' flags, and heavy police bandobast was organized to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Vanta Varpu is just one of the protests in the Telangana JAC and the TRS' plan for the season. Rasta rokos, rail rokos and dharnas have also been planned. Meanwhile, Kodandaram says Telangana leaders from the Congress and teh TDP have been given a deadline of June 25, to resign from their posts.
