Upa-Sarpanches Warned Of Being Stripped of Power
Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today warned the Upa-Sarpanches of the state against creating problems for the development of the villages.
Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today warned the Upa-Sarpanches of the villages of the state to discharge their duties as per the Panchayat Raj Act and avoid creating problems for the development of the villages.
He also asked the Sarpanches to bring the details of any erring Upa-Sarpanches to his notice, and said that the government would remove the cheque powers of all such Upa-sarpanches, and that the Chief Minister had already made an announcement on the issue.
He said that the government had removed the cheque powers of 10 Upa-Sarpanches of the state already.
He also warned Upa-sarpanches of the cancelling of their memberships if they created issues.
Rao made these remarks while speaking on the issue of the development of villages in the ongoing monsoon session of the state Assembly.
