Of late, many prominent TRS leaders have been
publicly expressing their support for the appointment of TRS working president K T Rama Rao as the next Chief Minister of the state.
Several cabinet ministers, including Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Srinivas Goud, E Dayakar Rao, and Legislative Council Chairman G Sukhender Reddy and Legislative Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy have all expressed their support for the move.
Today Chief Whip and Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinaya Bhaskar too revealed to the media that KTR would soon replace his father, incumbent Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, as the Chief Minister of Telangana.
"The people of the state want KTR to be appointed the CM, while the country awaits KCR's entry into national politics. The TRS leadership is preparing for this change of guard, and KTR will soon be appointed as the new CM of the state," Bhaskar claimed.
When the media asked the MLA whether the announcement regarding the switch would be made on February 18, he said, "I cannot yet reveal the exact timeframe within which the appointment will be made, but I can say with confidence that KTR will definitely replace his father very soon as the decision for the change of guard has already been made."
"All the leaders and elected representatives of the TRS support the move. They are waiting to see KTR take over the reins, and take Telangana to new heights," he reportedly said.
Meanwhile, Telangana Assembly Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud
also openly extended "congratulations in advance to the next CM" K T Rama Rao at a public meeting some days back.
Speculations regarding a possible change of guard began ever since current CM KCR took a step back from public life after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and his son K T Rama Rao took up most of the former's duties.
