The Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutes Society today released a notification inviting applications for admission of students in the 8th grade at its schools of excellence in Khammam (90 seats for male students) and at Parigi (40 seats for female students) for the 2021-22 academic year.
The medium of instruction at the schools is English. Students who have passed their seventh-grade promotional exams and whose parents' incomes are not more than Rs 1.50 lakh in rural areas and Rs 2 lakh in towns are eligible to apply for the seats. Those seeking to gain entry into the schools should be born after August 1, 2007. Selections will be made on the basis of screening tests.

The notification's release comes days after the Telangana government announced that the second year Intermediate exams
would be cancelled this year due to the ongoing Cvid-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown.
Speaking on the matter, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy had said, "Keeping in mind the health and wellbeing of the students of the state, we are cancelling this year's second-year Intermediate exams. We will make a decision on whether to allow the same to be conducted if the situation improves."
The minister had also stated that the results of the students who had passed would be announced in a few days after the government received a committee report on the matter.
