Weather reports reveal that Telangana will witness rains over the next two days due to the formation of low-pressure troughs in neighbouring areas.
A statement released by the Hyderabad wing of the Indian Meteorological Department revealed that a depression had formed over south-west Uttar Pradesh and spread up to the states of Chattisgarh and Jharkhand. Further, the state's west and north-western areas have been receiving winds from the low-pressure areas.
It has been predicted that light to very heavy rains will lash the Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Nizamabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadadri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts.
The weather report also warned people residing in low-lying areas of the aforementioned districts to remain alert as heavy rains may lead to the inundation of streets.
The state capital and some areas near it received light showers yesterday as well which brought down the mercury, allowing citizens to enjoy the cool weather. Today, too, residents of Hyderabad were able to enjoy a rainy evening after some warmer days. Several areas in the city, including Asifnagar, Nampally, Secunderabad, Saroornagar and Alwal, received light showers in the late afternoon.
The showers led to at least a 3 degree Celsius drop in temperatures.
