The Telangana government is making elaborate arrangements for celebrating Ramzan on a grand scale in all the districts, apart from in Hyderabad.
The government has issued orders on Saturday releasing Rs. 14 crores, of which Rs. 10 crores is for distribution of clothes to two lakh Muslims, while the remaining Rs. 4 crores is for Iftar parties in the State on June 26.
The Deputy Chief Minister Md Mahmood Ali on Saturday held a meeting with the senior officials of the Minority Welfare Department and reviewed the arrangements being made for the celebrations. He wanted coordination between different departments to organize the celebrations in a proper manner.
He also said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had directed the officials to arrange for the payment of honoraria to the mouzans and imams, and also to distribute auto rickshaws to poor Muslims.
The distribution of clothes will be done at 100 mosques in Hyderabad and also at masjids in the 95 Assembly constituencies in the districts.
