Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced that the State government would introduce a new EV (Electric Vehicle) policy soon.
After handing over appointment orders to the newly recruited Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors (AMVIs) at the Khairatabad RTA office, the Chief Minister said that the government was taking various measures to keep Hyderabad free from pollution, and urged the Transport Department officials to cooperate with the government's efforts.
The CM also commended the newly recruited AMVIs on making it to government service, and appealed to them to now engage with students and unemployed individuals in their respective villages to encourage them to prepare for competitive examinations.
"Build confidence among the youth about the importance of education, which brings recognition and respect, and also instill faith in them in the government," Reddy advised the AMVIs.
He also instructed the new recruits to take stringent measures to curb the smuggling of drugs and ganja in border areas.
Never one to lose an opportunity to criticize BRS leaders, the Chief Minister remarked that during Diwali festivities some people consumed drugs under the guise of celebrating housewarming ceremonies, a reference to K T Rama Rao's relatives. "A leader should be a vanguard, a role model for all. He should not celebrate festivals with drugs and liquor bottles," he said.
The Chief Minister appealed to the youth to socially boycott such leaders, advising them to consider whether they should look up to Srikanth Chary, who sacrificed his life during the Telangana movement, or to leaders who celebrated with drugs and liquor.
