Three Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidates - Challa Venkatrami Reddy, Naveen Kumar and Desapathi Srinivas - were today elected as MLCs under the MLA quota.
Officials received four nominations, including one from an independent candidate, for the three MLC posts. However, during the scrutiny of the nominations, the application of the independent candidate was rejected by the officials.
Since there were only the three ruling party members in the fray after that, they were elected unopposed.
Reddy, Kumar and Srinivas received the acknowledgement papers from the returning officer in the presence of ministers Malla Reddy and Prashanth Reddy and scores of ruling party MLCs and MLAs.
