The MLAs had called upon the Governor demanding that minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav be dismissed from the cabinet, but were held when they started protests.
Telangana TDP MLAs called upon the Governor E S L Narasimhan today complaining and demanding that Talasani Srinivas Yadav be dismissed from the cabinet immediately.
They complained that Yadav, who was elected on a TDP ticket, was continuing as a minister in the TRS government, which was against the Constitution.
The Governor is reported to have stated that since the issue was in court, he could not interfere.
Aggrieved by the Governor's response, the MLAs squatted in the Raj Bhavan lodging a protest.
The police immediately swung into action, and a verbal squabble between the police and the MLAs followed.
Later, the protesting legislators Errabelli Dayakar Rao, L Ramana, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and 13 others were taken into custody under the supervision of the Punjagutta ACP Venkateswarlu and Circle inspector Mohan Kumar.
