TDP Blasts TRS For Encouraging Defections
The TDP slammed the TRS for luring the MLAs of and encouraging the defections of leaders belonging to other Parties, and making a mockery of democracy.
The Telangana TDP today slammed the ruling TRS for indulging in luring the MLAs of and encouraging the defections of leaders belonging to other Parties, and making a mockery of democracy.
Speaking to the media, Telangana TDP President L Ramana and working president A Revanth Reddy accused the TRS of using all sorts of tactics and foul means to woo the Opposition MLAs and leaders.
They further stated that the Telangana Chief Minister KCR was plotting to make the State devoid of any Opposition.
The ruling TRS was also intimidating the leaders of other Parties and threatening them if they did not heed to its offers to defect to it, they alleged, and demanded amendments to the Anti-Defection Law.
They said that all political parties and champions of democracy should pay attention to the defections being encouraged by the TRS. They said that the Speaker of the Assembly and the Governor were not taking any action on the defections, and demanded action in the matter before the start of the Budget Session of the Assembly.
L Ramana demanded the resignation of those Party leaders who had changed their loyalties, from their elected positions.
Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR had kept aside development and welfare, and was resorting to blackmailing activities instead.
Meanwhile, another TDP MLA Arikepudi Gandhi denied reports that he was joining the TRS. He alleged that some channels were spreading false information about his joining the ruling Party.
"I have no intention of leaving the Party," he clarified.
