Telangana Finance Minister T Harish Rao today inaugurated a diagnostic hub at the district headquarters of Siddipet.
The facility, started to provide subsidised high-quality healthcare to the poor of the area, can conduct over 35,000 tests a day, and offers 57 kinds of diagnostic tests.
More facilities and infrastructure will be brought in to the centre in a phased manner.
Rao, speaking on the occasion, lauded the initiative, and said, "We will procure the infrastructure needed to conduct CT scans in the centre by spending Rs 2 crore, in the next few days. We will also be launching ultrasound and ECG services soon."
Rao also inaugurated an on-site resthouse, and later presented aid worth Rs 11.96 lakh to 30 CMRF beneficiaries.
The initiative is part of a state-wide effort to provide good healthcare to the poor of the state.
Last month, eight similar
diagnostics centres were launched in Hyderabad as well.
While in the district, the minister also handed over 40 street-vending kiosks to vendors in the Mustabad area and instructed the concerned officials to ensure that the stalls be maintained properly.
"Dispose off the waste generated at the kiosks regular, and take suitable measures to avoid the spread of Covid-19," he said.
He then interacted with the vendors after handing over the official ownership documents to them, and proceeded to enjoy some tea along with the other leaders who had accompanied him at a tea stall nearby
