The Telangana Students' Joint Action Committee on Wednesday announced its postponement of its earlier call of a Telangana bandh from August 5, to August 8.
The bandh call was in protest against the conduction of the Sub-Inspectors' recruitment examination by the state government without deleting Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders.
Students JAC convenor G Kishore announced the postponement after discussions with Telangana Political JAC Chairman M Kodandaram at the state Bharatiya Janata Party Office in Nampally.
Kishore said the round-table conference, to discuss the controversial clause, scheduled for 4 August, would now be held on 5 August with leaders from all paries.
He said the Students' JAC leaders would meet Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on 6 August and submit a memorandum demanding the postponement of the SI recruitment examination till the deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders.
"The government should not conduct the examination without deleting the Clause 14 F from the Presidential Order of 1975. If he (the Chief Minister) still wants to go ahead with it, Telangana will witness another shut down on August 8," he warned. (INN)
