The Telangana Students Joint Action Committee on Sunday warned the state government that the state may witness another 'Million March' if it goes ahead with the recruitment examinations for Sub-Inspectors' posts in the police department without getting the controversial Clause 14 F deleted from the Presidential Orders of 1975.
The students' JAC leaders told media persons that the state government can go ahead with the examinations only after the Centre deletes the controversial clause.
They demanded that the government announce its decision on the issue before August 12, a day prior to the examinations.
The students resort to a 48-hour bandh on 13 and 14 August in Telangana, paralyzing all services, if the Centre fails to take a favourable decision on this matter, the JAC members said.
Meanwhile, the students' leaders have postponed the Telangana bandh from 8 August to 10 August, due to some "unavoidable reasons".
Earlier, the JAC had postponed its earlier call of a Telangana bandh from August 5 to August 8.
However, the students said they would boycott classes on Monday in protest against the recent
suicide of Srikanth, a JNTU student, allegedly for Telangana.
They also declared that they would hoist the Telangana flag in all district headquarters in the region on 15 August, along with the National tricolour. (INN)
