Intensifying the ongoing Telangana bandh further, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof. M Kodandaram on Friday stated that small and medium industries in the region would shut their units down indefinitely.
Talking to media persons while participating in the bandh in Karimnagar district, Kodandaram said that small and medium enterprises in Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts have decided to shut their units down indefinitely from 3 October.
He assured employees participating in the general strike that he would hold consultations with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other officials concerned to release the salary of these employees, apart from the Dussehra festival advance and bonus.
Kodandaram said that he would intensify the agitation in Singareni Colleries after convening a meeting with the Colleries' employee union leaders.
Stating that the bandh in the Telangana region has received impressive response from all sections of people, he expressed confidence that the Centre would soon take a favourable decision on the creation of Telangana. (INN)
