The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave warning for next three days for Telangana.
According to an IMD report, dry weather is likely to prevail over Telangana during the next five days, and heat wave conditions were very likely in some parts of the Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy, Khammam and Nalgonda districts in the State.
The heat wave would result in an appreciable rise in the maximum temperatures in a few places, and most places were likely to record a maximum temperature between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius, the IMD predicted.
Temparatures are already significantly above normal in many places of the State. The highest maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nalgonda and Ramagundam.
The maximum temperatures recorded in some places in Telangana today are: Adilabad (42 degrees Celsius), Bhadrachalam (43), Hakimpet (39), Hanamkonda (41), Hyderabad (42), Khammam (42), Mahbubnagar (42), Medak (42), Nalgonda (44), Nizamabad (43) and Ramagundam (44).
