The indefinite strike by the 48,000+ TSRTC employees entered its 51st day today, and thousands of people continued to be seen stranded at bus stations and stops across the State.
Women workers staged a dharna at the the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station today as part of the special protests for today.
RTC employee unions' JAC convener K Ashwatthama Reddy thanked the TSRTC workers for continuing the strike enthusiastically. He said that Monday would see the striking employees stage protests with "Save RTC" placards at all bus depots in the State on Monday.
Demanding that the State government allow the employees to resume their duties unconditionally, Reddy said the Chief Minister's silence was atrocious and anti-working class.
Meanwhile, it is being speculated that the Chief Minister might ask the RTC management to issue a notification in a day or two on the privatization of 5,100 RTC routes as the High Court has given a green signal for it.
