Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today announced that landless impoverished families of the State would soon start to receive an annual assistance of Rs 12,000.
The money will be distributed in two installments, and the first payment of Rs 6,000 is scheduled to be credited to their accounts on December 28.
Speaking at a media briefing, Vikramarka said that the Congress government in the State was focused heavily on the welfare of the poorer sections. Since coming into power in Telangana, the government had also deposited Rs 50,953 crore directly into agriculture and the welfare of farmers, he said. He also said that the government would start the Rythu Bharosa scheme from Sankranti. He said that the previous BRS government had failed to provide any assistance to farmers during its decade-long tenure, and said that BRS leaders were just misleading the public by creating false perceptions of their accomplishments.
Vikramarka also said that to foster the development of all regions in Telangana, the government planned to establish airports in Kothagudem, Ramagundam, Adilabad and Warangal for the expansion of industries across the State.
He also said that the State government planned to develop Hyderabad on the lines of international cities, and had as part of that taken up the Musi rejuvenation project, which would change the face of the city.
"We are also going to construct a Regional Ring Road (RRR) connecting all the districts of the State. In addition to this, we are going to establish industrial and housing clusters between the outer ring road and the regional ring road, providing a big asset to future generations," the Deputy CM said.
