Unlike the last time, when all services were stopped following the 2-day rail roko call given by pro-Telangana outfits, the South Central Railway will operate its services during the 3-day rail roko call 9 October.
SCR Assistant General Manager Vijay Mohan on Wednesday stated that the Railways are ready to operate trains 9-11 October, if the state government provides security.
Talking to media persons after holding discussions with Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi at the Secretariat, he said that the Railways might operate all the services if adequate security is provided to its properties and passengers.
Mohan said that the Chief Secretary assured him that he would look into issue after discussing it with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy and Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy.
Admitting that the railways have made huge losses due to the rail rokos, he said that the Railways proposed the idea of security considering the interests of commuters and to reduce inconvenience to passengers. (INN)
