The state police will provide 3-tier security to the properties and passengers of the Railways during the proposed 3-day Telangana rail roko from 9 to 11 Oct.
The state police will provide 3-tier security to the properties and passengers of the Railways during the proposed 3-day rail roko from 9 to 11 October, a call for which was given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee.
The decision was taken at a review meeting attended by Director General Of Police V Dinesh Reddy, South Central Railway AGM R Vijaya Mohan, and other senior officials of both the departments, at the State Police Headquarters in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
The 3-tier security will comprise stationery pickets, patrolling parties and reserve parties to protect the passengers, trains and other Railway assets.
The officials have also decided to set up Central Control rooms manned by senior officials of the Railways at the offices of DRM, in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, where senior police officers will also be positioned for real-time exchange of information and action.
Pilot trains will also be pressed into operation. While minimising passenger inconvenience, the Railways will also work out a scheme for the diversion of trains and their early termination if required.
There will be intensified patrolling by the Railway staff, to avoid sabotage.
Later, the DGP also held a detailed meeting with senior police officials, and the Commissioners of Hyderabad and Cyberabad, to review the strike situation. (INN)
