The South Central Railway resumed its services across the Telangana region, on Sunday evening.
Soon after the announcement made by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, Prof. M Kodandaram, that the rail roko agitation would not be extended, the SCR released the schedule of trains to be operated under its jurisdiction.
Several major trains started departing for their destinations from Secunderabad and Hyderabad railway stations, on Sunday evening.
Similarly, MMTS and other local services, too, were restored. Huge crowds were seen at reservation counters at all railway stations.
The South Central Railway has suffered huge losses due to the 2-day rail roko agitation by pro-Telangana outfits.
To avoid violence and damage to railway property, the SCR itself had cancelled all its services in the region for 2 days.
However, the services were restored immediately after the end of the rail roko deadline. (INN)
