The Telangana State Police Recruitment Board (TSPRB) has been left bewildered after a job notification in its name was released online.
The fake notification reportedly states that a recruitment drive to hire a total of 19,725 personnel, including 425 SIs, will be carried out soon. It also provides false information detailing the application process, and claims that applications for the posts will be received from July 22 and the recruitment examination will be held on December 27.
The carefully created 31-page-long notice even contains details relating to number of posts reserved for OBC, BC, SC and ST candidates, the eligibility criteria for applicants, as well as the website from which to download exam hall tickets.
After it was posted online, police officials immediately advised the public not to believe the fake notification, and said, "The TSPRB notification-2021 that was recently released is completely fake. Please take care not to believe in any such notices before first verifying the veracity of the same."
The incident has caused considerable outrage. Many have asserted that forging such an important notification is a serious offence and have demanded that police officials book the culprits and see that they are given the appropriate punishment to deter people from releasing similar notifications in the future.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his government have been facing considerable flak for
"failing" to expedite the process of filling the vacancies in the state's various government departments. Following this, the CM recently directed the concerned officials to
initiate the recruitment process to fill 50,000 vacancies immediately.
