Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had on Friday, July 9, directed the concerned officials to commence the process of filing the vacant job posts in the various government departments of the state.
He had asked that a total of 50,000 vacant posts across the departments be filled soon, and had and sought a report from each department on the matter.
Following this, Principal Secretary (Finance) Ramakrishna Rao held a key meeting of the Special Chiefs and Chief Secretaries of all the departments at the MCRHRD during which he instructed the department heads to submit the details regarding the vacancies in their respective departments.
These department-wise details will reportedly be submitted to the state's finance ministry on Monday, July 12, which will then be submitted to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. After this, the KCR Cabinet will take a decision regarding the filling of the vacancies on July 13, reports say.
Data suggests that there are a total of about 1.91 lakh vacancies in the various departments. For now, the government plans to fill 50,000 of these. The CM has said that the posts will be filled through a direct recruitment process. The Opposition, meanwhile, has been demanding that the TRS government fill all 1.9 lakh posts at once.
