The State government on Tuesday issued orders for a vigilance inquiry into sinking piers of the Medigadda barrage.
Vigilance officials thereupon conducted searches in many irrigation offices under the Kaleswaram project.
Searches were also held at the Jala Soudha, the headquarters of the Telangana irrigation department in Hyderabad. The officials conducted inspections on the second and fourth floors of the Jala Soudha, including the office of ENC Muralidhar Rao.
Inspections were carried out in irrigation department offices in several districts too.
The vigilance and enforcement inspections were also held at the district Kaleswaram project office in Jayashankar Bhupalpalli district. At the Mahadevpur office, a team of officials examined records and valuable documents related to the Medigadda barrage and Kannepally pumphouses constructed as part of the Kaleshwaram project.
