The Telangana government has suspended the online slot bookings for the registration of non-agriculture lands in the state.

The Telangana government has reportedly taken a decision to stall the online slot bookings for the registration of non-agriculture lands in the state after resuming the registrations just five days ago.
This means that only those people who have already booked their slots can get their lands registered online while others will not be able to.
This decision has invited the wrath of many sections of society, including builders, real estate agents and the opposition, as it will only further delay the registration process, which was originally supposed to commence nearly three months back.
Many applicants have also complained that a host of technical problems on the portal continue to delay the process.
The real estate sector is therefore now demanding that the government suspend the use of the Dharani portal, and revert to the older system of land registration.
Many other issues plague the new online system. Some citizens have raised concerns about having to submit sensitive personal details on the portal for the registrations, as the concerned officials have not been able to clarify what security measures have been implemented to safeguard such data. Many people petitioned the Telangana High Court to look into this matter, and that prompted the court to direct the state government not to ask the people for their personal details during the registrations. The next hearing has been scheduled for December 20, and the government will reportedly address the slot booking issue in greater detail following the hearing, on December 21.
