On Wednesday, the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee's Chairman, M Kodandaram, announced that the proposed Jana Chaitanya Yatra scheduled to be launched on Thursday has been postponed to August 1.
Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, Kondandaram said that the decision to postpone the Jana Chaitanya Yatra was taken in view of the heavy rains that have, of late, beseiged several districts of Telangana. He said that the Yatra would be taken up at a large scale across the region from August 1.
Kodandaram also alleged that the Seemandhra leaders were trying to provoke local sentiments by obstructing the formation of the Telangana state in an "uncivilized manner."
He said that the Seemandhra leaders should respect the sentiments of the people of Telangana people and agree for an amicable division of the state. He said the division would prove beneficial for both the sides.
TNGO leader Devi Prasad and other leaders were also present. (INN)
