The ministers from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions have resolved to intensify efforts to pressurise the Congress High Command to restrain from dividing the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The decision was taken during a meeting of Seemandhra ministers that was held at the Ministers' Quarters on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by 19 ministers including S Sailajanath, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Pitani Satyanarayana, C Ramachandraiah, P Balaraju, Kondru Murali Mohan, S Vijayarama Raju, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, S Vishwaroop, T G Venkatesh, K Parthasarathy and Vatti Vasant Kumar.
However, three ministers - Botsa Satyanarayana, Thota Narasimham and Manikya Varaprasada Rao - did not attend the meeting.
Talking to reporters, Sailajanath said that it has been decided that a convoy of leaders will visit New Delhi on July 26 to meet the leaders at the Centre, the union ministers and others who could influence the Centre on keeping Andhra Pradesh united. He said that all efforts would be made before the Congress Working Committee meeting, to foil the Centre's attempt, if any, to bifurcate the state. (INN)
