Congress ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs from the Telangana region will meet on Tuesday at the Kalinga Bhavan in Banjara Hills to chalk out a course of action on the issue of separate statehood.
Talking to media persons on Monday, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao said that Pradesh Congress Committee chief D Srinivas, members of the All India Congress Committee, office bearers of the state unit, and presidents of District Congress Committees will attend the meeting.
He said the meeting is aimed at discussing the measures to be adopted to mount pressure on the Centre, including elected representatives resigning from their posts, for a bill in Parliament for a Telangana state.
KK said party leaders have no differences of opinion on the statehood issue, and that they would compromise neither on a Telangana state nor on the issue of Hyderabad remaining the capital of Telangana.
Earlier, some ministers from Telangana met union urban development minister S Jaipal Reddy to discuss the situation following the
Srikrishna Committee report.
The ministers who met Jaipal Reddy were D Sridhar Babu, Komatreddy Venkat Reddy and Basvaraj Saraiah.
