Slamming the Centre for not taking a call on the High Court bifurcation pending for the past two years, a team of TRS MPs joined a group of law students staging a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Friday.
The MPs Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Bibi Patil, Sitharam Naik, K Prabhakar Reddy, D Srinivas and Captain V Lakshmikantha Rao protested against the central government for its obstinance over the bifurcation issue. They accused the Centre of adopting delaying tactics despite repeated appeals by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the issue.
They also fumed at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not offering clarity on the issue though the Telangana government had already shown an alternate site for the Andhra Pradesh High Court in Hyderabad.
They alleged that the AP government was hatching a conspiracy to grab the judge and other judicial posts meant for Telangana.
"We will not allow any injustice against our State and will intensify the protest in the Parliament," they vowed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi should direct the Union Law Ministry to organize a meeting beween the two Chief Ministers in the presence of the Hyderabad High Court Chief Justice and the Governor for an amicable solution, they said.
The Hyderabad High Court officials, too, expressed their dismay at the Centre for not giving any assurances on an alternative arrangement in Hyderabad until a new High Court was built in Andhra Pradesh.
