KTR Meets Several Companies' Heads In USA

Telangana Industries, IT and MA&UD Minister K Taraka Rama Rao's two-week US trip started on a successful note from Chicago in the Illionis state in the US.
He had a busy schedule in Chicago and Indianapolis meeting Trey Childress, Deputy Governor of Illinois State; Dr Ausaf Sayeed, Consul General of India in Chicago; and Mike Pence, Governor of Indiana, and attended the Indianpolis-Hyderabad Sister Cities Committee meeting apart from meeting the heads of several companies.
Earlier in the day, KTR got a rousing welcome at the Chicago airport from Telangana NRIs. He later met Trey Childress accompanied by Dr Ausaf Sayeed. The minister discussed the potential areas of collaboration between Illinois and Telangana while elaborating on the State's industrial policy. He detailed on the investment opportunities in the pharma and IT sectors.
Appreciating the ICT and other policies of the Telangana government, Childress expressed Illinois' interest in a partnership in the field of innovation. He said that he had heard a lot about T-Hub, and also said that Chicago and Hyderabad shared a strong bond, the presence of a large number of Telangana NRIs being a testimony to this.
The Consul General at Chicago hosted a dinner for the visiting team. KTR then held a series of meetings with the heads of several companies. He met Redberry Corporation's Chairman Deepak Kant, Abaris Capital Advisors President Omer Ahmed, Genesis Pharmaceuticals Chairman Monif Matouk and Safye Holdings CEO Afi Hasan. Digital healthcare company Eclat Health Solutions came forward to invest $15m in Telangana, providing employment to around thousand people. Several MoUs were signed with these companies in the presence of KTR.
At Indianapolis, KTR met Governor Mike Pence. Later, he attended the Indianpolis-Hyderabad Sister Cities Committee meeting and addressed a 500-strong audience of Telangana NRIs.
Arvind Kumar, Principal Secretary, Industries, Commerce & Power, and Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary IT E&C department, accompanied the minister on the first day.
