Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao inaugurated Telangana's first LuLu Mall, by UAE-based retailer LuLu Group, in Kukatpally today.
Speaking on the occasion, Rao extended congratulations to the LuLu Group for starting the mall, and said that the LuLu Group's proposed investment of Rs 3,500 crore in Telangana was going to play a vital role in supporting the local agricultural and trade sectors, and create more job opportunities for Telangana's youth in the days to come.
The minister also said that the mall was just the beginning of the group's operations in Telangana, and that the group had promised more investments in the State in the days to come.
Ras added that Telangana had become a role model for the whole country in terms of development, and that the State was now the best destination for investments.
LuLu Group International Chairman & MD M A Yusuff Ali and others were present.
The LuLu Mall in Kukatpally is spread across five lakh square feet, with 2 lakh square feet of that being the LuLu Hypermarket. The mall will also have a food court with around seven restaurants offering different cuisines.
The LuLu Group is operating over 250 hypermarts in 25 countries. The company, which is a popular name in Dubai and several other countries, had begun its operations in India with the inauguration of a mall in Kerala.
