No Million March Permission: A K Khan
A K Khan rejected permission for the Telangana Million March scheduled for tomorrow, as he felt that life in the city would be brought to a standstill.
Rejecting permission for Million March proposed to be organized by Telangana Political Joint Action Committee on March 10, Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan on Tuesday stated that the march would cause severe hardships to the people and throw traffic out of gear in the city.
Talking to media persons at his office in Basheerbagh, Commissioner Khan stated that as the 2 proposed rallies - one from Jubilee Bus Station, Secunderabad, and the other from Sundaraiah Vignan Kendram, Baghlingampally - intend to pass through the city's arterial roads, they will not only severely affect the flow of traffic on these roads, but also adversely impact the movement of traffic on other important adjoining areas.
"This has serious implications for the maintenance of public order. The functioning of offices and other establishments like schools, and the students appearing for annual public examinations will be severely affected. The dharna, which is scheduled to culminate at Tank Bund, will bring life to halt in the city," the Commissioner pointed out.
