Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kondandaram on Wednesday expressed apprehensions that some vested elements might incite violence during the Telangana March, scheduled to be on March 30, to sabotage the statehood movement.
Talking to reporters after the TP-JAC meeting, Kodandaram said that he got some indications that some vested elements might incite violence during Telangana March at the behest of Seemandhra leaders and the state government to defame the statehood activists. Stating that the government would be responsible for any violence, if it occurs, he insisted that the JAC activists would ensure that the Telangana March remains peaceful.
Kodandaram said that the JAC has already briefed the governor ESL Narasimhan about the Telangana March. He said that the route map for the Telangana March would be finalised and announced within the next few days. He appealed to the people to participate in large numbers to make the Telangana March a grand success.
Regarding the re-installation of statues that were damaged during the Million March at Tank Bund, he said that it was upto the government to take a decision on the same while keeping in view the sentiments of people in Telangana region. (INN)
