Telangana MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi today flayed the Congress leaders' ongoing "rhetoric" over the Telangana-Maharashtra Godavari water pact.
Talking to the media on Saturday, the MIM president welcomed Congress leader K Jana Reddy's comment that the previous Congress government had not entered any agreements for the construction of a 152-metre reservoir at Tummidi Hatti.
Calling out Telangana Congress Chief Uttam Kumar Reddy on his "rhetoric" against the CM, Owaisi said, "Reddy must stop politicizing developmental projects and take a note of Jana Reddy's remarks on Tummidi Hatti."
The MIM leader also flayed the Congress for its "double-standards" and "negative publicity" on the irrigation agreement, seeking to know why the Congress had not completed the projects that it took up during its regime.
"The Congress did not release waters to even a single acre even after it had laid the foundations and had inaugurated several irrigation projects. People will not support a government that leaves project works before they even begin," the MIM leader pointed out.
Slamming all the allegations levelled by the Congress leaders against the government, he appreciated the pact signed by KCR and Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and also praised them for putting an end to the decades-old water wars between the two States.
