Telangana Agriculture Secretary C Partha Sarathi today directed district agriculture officials to deposit the crop loan waiver amount into the bank accounts of farmers in the State immediately.
Partha Sarathi held a review meeting with agricultural officials of all districts on the district-wise disbursal of funds for the crop loan waiver. He asked them to take necessary steps to deposit the funds into the farmers' accounts.
"The officials of old and new districts should coordinate to resolve court cases and share information through the Right To Information act. Funds sanctioned district-wise will be disbursed to farmers under the loan waiver scheme. The State government will take suggestions and instructions from officials for speedy disposal of the funds," Partha Sarathi said.
The agriculture secretary also directed the officials to take steps to avoid inconvenience to the farmers while receiving the funds. The officials should coordinate with nodal offices for details pertaining to farmers, he said.
The State government released Rs. 2019.19 crores towards crop loan waiver as second installment under third phase on Tuesday, he said. The entire process of transaction of money would be done through old nodal banks.
Agriculture officials in the new districts should open new bank accounts for farmers, and section in-charges should give information on the guidelines of the schemes of the State and Central governments.
