Lok Adalat To Be Conducted On March 8
The Lok Adalat will operate at all judicial levels, from the High Court to Taluq courts, providing services free of charge.
Hyderabad | 5th March 2025
The Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) today announced that, following the directives of the National Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat would be held across the State on March 8, 2025.
This initiative aims to facilitate the amicable settlement of various civil and compoundable criminal cases, encompassing both pre-litigation and pending matters.
The Lok Adalat will operate at all judicial levels, from the High Court to Taluq courts, providing services free of charge. If a pending case is resolved through the Lok Adalat, any court fees previously paid will be refunded.
The awards issued in the Adalat are binding and not subject to appeal, ensuring finality in resolutions.
This mechanism offers a cost-effective and expedited alternative to traditional litigation, promoting swift justice and reducing the burden on conventional courts.
Citizens interested in resolving their disputes through this platform can participate in both physical and virtual modes.
Interested individuals may approach the Chairman or Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority at the Nyaya Seva Sadan within their respective district court complexes. Alternatively, they may contact the nearest Mandal Legal Services Committee or court to facilitate the settlement of their cases during the National Lok Adalat.
Telangana has a commendable track record with Lok Adalats. For instance, the fourth National Lok Adalat, held on December 14, 2024, resolved over 11.5 lakh cases, awarding compensation totalling Rs 161.05 crore. This event addressed a wide array of disputes, including motor accident claims, civil suits and matrimonial cases.
The TSLSA has urged the public to seize this opportunity to settle disputes efficiently and amicably. Utilizing the Lok Adalat mechanism not only expedites the resolution process but also alleviates the caseload on traditional courts, contributing to a more efficient judicial system.
