Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka today appeared before the Public Representatives Court in Nampally in connection with a 2021 case filed by the then BRS government after she led a protest demanding the inclusion of COVID-19 treatment under the Arogya Sri scheme.
Speaking to the media outside the court, the minister said that she had organised the protest along with current MLC Balmuri Venkat and NSUI leaders to advocate for public access to COVID-19 treatment. She alleged that the previous BRS government had retaliated by filing false cases against them.
"We staged the protest in the interest of public health. However, we were wrongly accused of spreading the coronavirus," she said.
She added that she had respect for the judiciary, and that she would attend the next hearing, too.
