Telangana Likely to Get Heavy Rains Next Two Days

Telangana is likely to receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places during the next five days, the IMD predicted on Monday.

Telangana is likely to receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places during the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.

The weatherman said heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in the Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medak and Nalgonda districts during the next two days.

The rainfall recorded in some places in Telangana today are:

Koida (Khammam) - 18 cm
Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy) - 7cm
Boath (Adilabad) - 7cm
Perur (Khammam) - 7 cm
Sathupalle (Khammam) - 6 cm
Nirmal (Adilabad) - 6 cm
Metpalle (Karimnagar) - 4 cm
Balkonda (Nizamabad) - 4 cm
Sirpur (t) (Adilabad) - 3 cm
Velpur (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Bheemgal (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Shriramsag.pocha (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Adilabad (Adilabad) - 3 cm
Aswapuram (Khammam) - 3 cm
Mallial (Karimnagar) - 3 cm
Mortad (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Jagtial (Karimnagar) - 3 cm
Nandipet (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Dummugudem (Khammam) - 3 cm
Kammar Palle (Nizamabad) - 3 cm
Jakranpalle (Nizamabad) - 3 cm

The met also predicted heavy rains in the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days. Rains are likely to occur in the Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts.

"The reason for increased rainfall in Telangana is a low pressure area, which is lying off the Andhra coast. This weather system will move in a westerly direction and further increase rain over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana," said Y K Reddy, Director-In-Charge, IMD, Hyderabad.
