Telangana Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "unnecessarily intervening" into the matters of the State governments and creating hurdles in their purchases of power.
Reddy accused the Centre of creating hurdles between the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) and the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC).
"The Centre is unnecessarily intervening into the matters of the State governments, and trying to trim the powers of States," he alleged.
The minister alleged that as the BJP had failed to supply power to the industrial units in "Modi's" Gujarat, it was now trying to ensure that Telangana also met with a similar fate.
"In Gujarat, power supply to the agriculture sector is being given for a maximum of six hours in a day. Similarly, there is a two-day power holiday per week for industrial units. The power supply in other BJP-ruled States is also in such a horrible condition. Telangana is the only State in the country that is providing 24-hour quality power supply to all sectors," he claimed.
"With its bullying tactics, the Centre is hurting the interests of the farm sector not only in Telangana, but in the entire country," he said.
