Senior Congress leader and Leader Of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today once again reiterated his party's demand for a CBI enquiry into the multi-crore land scam that's all over the news now.
He also asked why KCR was silent over the demand.
Addressing a press meet at Gandhi Bhavan along with T Jeevan Reddy, Deputy Leader of the CLP, and Madhu Yakshi Goud, ex-MP and AICC Secretary, Shabbir Ali said that the scams had reached KCR's doorstep now with MP and Secretary General of the TRS Keshava Rao's family members being involved in some of them. In addition, Damodar Rao's frequent visits to the Secretariat and his involvement had also been exposed, Shabbir Ali said.
Shabbir Ali said that the investigations by the CID and the ACB had failed to catch the culprits and had let them go scot-free in various scandals involving the TRS government like the EAMCET paper leak, the Alair police encounter of Muslim youth and gangster Nayeem's affairs, which was the reason a CBI probe was needed.
He also said that the KCR government was neglecting the farmers and not taking any action on spurious seeds, fertilisers etc. A farmer attempting suicide yesterday right in the premises of the Secretariat was a stark example of the anti-farmer policies of the TRS government, he said.
