Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Leader Of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council, today dared Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao to order a CBI probe into the land scams on the alleged involvement of the TRS and, if it had proof, on even the Congress leaders.
Addressing a media conference on Friday along with MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Shabbir Ali said it had become a habit for the TRS leaders to blame every failure of the KCR government on the Congress party and the Congress leaders.
"We will give evidence of the involvement of the TRS leaders to the CBI. Let the TRS, too, give evidence on the Congress leaders, and let the truth come out," he said.
Contending that the government action had failed to unravel the mystery of the "mind-boggling" land scam, he said that it appeared as if the government probe had dug up a mountain just to track a mouse-hole.
Since Chief Minister KCR had boasted that not even a metre of land had been lost by the government, why was he scared or hesitant to order a CBI probe and get a clean chit, Shabbir Ali sought to know.
It was also high time that the Chief Minister explained why the crucial report of the S K Sinha committee was not made public, he said, and demanded that it should be placed in the public domain.
