8,000 members of the Judicial Employees' Association joined striking Telangana lawyers and went on an indefinite strike, paralysing the functioning of courts.
Agitating Telangana lawyers on Friday boycotted courts all over the State, including the High Court, and took out rallies demanding a speedy bifurcation of the Hyderabad High Court and cancellation of the "option rule" given to judges to stay back in Telangana.
Some 8,000 members of the Judicial Employees' Association also joined the striking lawyers all over the State and went on an indefinite strike, paralysing the functioning of courts.
The lawyers staged a dharna at Indira Park, and leaders of political parties extended their support to their agitation.
The lawyers also demanded reinstatement of the judges who had been suspended last week for participating in the agitation.
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders reiterated that the agitation would be intensified if the Centre failed to respond immediately and initiate the process of bifurcation of the High Court.
Around 200 judges from Telangana are also on a mass leave in protest against the suspension of the 11 judicial officers amid the ongoing stir over the provisional allocation of judicial officers from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana courts.
