TPJAC Performs Last Rites Of Assembly

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) leaders performed the "last rites of the dead A P State Assembly" on March 17th.
Hyderabad | 18th March 2011
Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) convener Prof. Kodandaram on Thursday stated that the TPJAC will intensify its agitation for a separate Telangana state and mount pressure on the Centre.

Talking to media persons, Prof. Kodandaram stated that a meeting of the JAC leaders will soon be convened to plot a course of action to further the struggle for a separate state.

The meeting will take into consideration the Centre's stand that it would take up the Telangana issue only after the completion of the assembly elections in 5 states.

Political observers say that the meeting would try to find a way to keep the interest of pro-Telangana activists sustained, and the momentum continued, till the Assembly elections are over.

Prof. Kodandaram stated that the TPJAC will announce the calendar of the agitations that they would take up until May. He also said that the JAC will conduct awareness campaigns at village, mandal and district levels, and prepare the activists for the next phase of agitations.

"The agitation for Telangana will be intensified in a phased manner till the objective is achieved," he stated.

Meanwhile, following his call, TPJAC co-convener Mallepalli Lakshmaiah and Doctors' JAC chairman Narsaiah performed the "last rites for the dead Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly" at a burial ground at the Jubilee Bus Station in Secunderabad.

They stated that the last rites for the Assembly were performed as the House had failed to discuss the Telangana issue in the Budget Session. However, no elected representatives from the TRS or the BJP participated in the conduction of the last rites.

They alleged that the Congress had cheated the people of Telangana yet again by not fulfilling its promise made in its 2004 election manifesto.

They demanded that the Congress stand by the announcement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009.

They also appealed to the Telangana Congress elected representatives to join the Telangana leaders and make a united effort for the formation of a separate state.

If telangana is for leaders only then why would 300000 employees of telangana participate in the non coopertaion movement.

You can say the same with united AP demand that it if for only leaders who have amassed huge wealth in and aroung hyderabad through their infulence in the govt.

And some people say that we need to stay united just because we speak the same language. I do not understand the logic behind this. In the same of language they are resorting to emotional blackmail. I agree telugu language is great but whats woring in having two telugu speaking states. If you want a state for all telugus, what about urudu speaking people. Why not fight for yanam to be merged to AP. When we are united as Indians with 28 states , why can't we stay united as two telugu speaking states. Telangana state should be formed only because it is being neglected in united AP.

If you need proof take a look at the link
http://panchayat.nic.in/brgf/

According to ministry of panchayati raj, there are 14 backward districts in AP. And 9 of them are from telangana region which has 10 districts.

What basis are you saying that students are spoling their future. They are only fighting for their and the next generations bright future. They are fighting for their right to education and govt jobs. Those who are figting are the students who didn't get govt jobs and who will be appearing for the state services exams like APPSC Group I and Group II exams. And they didn't get jobs because of govts partiallity towards Andhra region. The govt has still not implemented 610 GO and conspiring to make Hyderabad as free zone. What is the pointing in studying if they do not get what they want. Thats the reason why they are participating in the movement.
You might say that they are resorting to violence, but why are you focussing only on few such incidents. Why are you not focussing on students doing it peacefully by peroforming relay fasts and taking rallys. And it is sometimes the police who instigate them to resort to violence.

Its sad to see so many students are spoiling their career and lives for this. So ashamed to see the indian politicians greed, selfishness at others lives cost. Whatever the fate may be, politics should not be involved in personal lives. The cong govt is also in a stalemate, if they give Telangana, other can of worms will open. Lets pray God that there will be peace in us. Lets hope all people will behave like educated and think broad.
