Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Friday said that deliberations on the Telangana issue were on.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of 64th Passing Out Parade of the IPS Probationers at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel National Academy here, Shinde said that talks were on over the Telangana issue. However, he said that he could not predict when those talks would conclude.
“We welcome any suggestions or advises for the amicable settlement of the issue,” Shinde said. However, he refused to make any specific statement on what could be the Centre's decision on the contentious statehood issue. Stating that no deadline could be fixed to solve the issue, he said that only time would solve the problem.
Shinde also professed ignorance about the letter written by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh demanding an all-party meeting to discuss the Telangana issue. (INN)
