Claiming that neither he nor his party is against the formation of a Telangana, TDP's Rajya Sabha MP Nandamuri Harikrishna, on Sunday, resigned from his post in protest against "the way the Centre announced" the bifurcation of AP.
Talking to reporters after paying homage to his father and late Chief Minister N T Rama Rao at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad, Harikrishna informed the media that he has sent his resignation letter to the Rajya Sabha chairman and to the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
Harikrishna complained that the Centre's decision on Telangana was unilateral. He opined that the Centre should have taken the opinion of people from all the regions into consideration before announcing its decision.
He said that the methodology adopted to decide on the Telangana issue was wrong and highly objectionable, adding that it "shocked the entire Telugu community". He said that justice should be done to people of all regions. (INN)
