OUJAC Students Arrested At Secretariat

The City Police closed entry points to Sabzi Mandi and other violence-hit areas.

Nearly 20 students affiliated with the Osmania University Joint Action Committee were taken into custody on Wednesday, when they staged a dharna before the state Secretariat, demanding a boycott of Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations.

Holdings banners of OUJAC, the students tried to barge into the Secretariat while shouting pro-Telangana slogans. However, the security personnel foiled their attempt and took them into custody. They shifted them immediately to a nearby police station in an auto-rickshaws, not even waiting for a police jeep or van.

Security has been intensified further after the OUJAC's protest. (INN)
