6 Congress MPs from the regions of Rayalaseema and Andhra, on Friday, submitted their resignations in protest against the Central government's
decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters at Parliament's Central Hall, Vundavalli said that the resignations were aimed at bringing the ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region to the notice of the Congress High Command. He said that the resignations were submitted in the format required by the Speaker, and that there was no question of re-considering them.
